While many college students left parties with countless red cups on kitchen countertops, laughter well past midnight, and blurry photos, Patrick McEnaney walked away with something deeper. In those energetic gatherings that most may see as a temporary escape from exams, he saw conversations bridge different backgrounds, friendships form, and an appreciation for the way people connect. McEnaney saw the blueprint for community, connection, and unity.

“A buddy and I were throwing these college parties and being promoters,” said McEnaney. “From that, I learned a way to bring people together, and I always wanted to run events and have a reason to unite people.”

From packed college parties to conversations spilling into hallways, Patrick McEnaney got a firsthand experience of how gatherings could transform strangers into a community. That perspective guided him, and after graduating from college, Patrick McEnaney went into residential property management in New York City. McEnaney was stepping into a profession that was already rooted in his family’s legacy through his father and grandfather. Managing buildings was a continuation of what he saw in those college spaces, creating places where people don’t just live, but connect.

“I did that for almost seven years,” said McEnaney. “Until I made it to the pinnacle of that industry, and to run a building on Park Avenue, at 27 years old, was almost unheard of. It was a great job. But I realized I had more potential than just keeping a building standing. I felt that I had to give back more and could do more.”

However, it was when Patrick McEnaney removed himself from the structure of city life and went for a hike one day. He became disoriented, lost, on the trail, and in that moment of being off course, he had a realization that’d lead him to the right path. The fast-paced world of New York residential management suddenly felt misaligned.

“I told myself if I make it out of there [the hike] then I’d leave my job,” said McEnaney. “It was like a whistle from God and a calling.”

But what began as a trip to South Florida in 2021 turned into a permanent relocation. While in South Florida, he became a personal trainer and wellness event organizer. There, he translated the same community-driven mindset he once found in college parties and New York buildings into fitness spaces and wellness events across South Florida.

“People were throwing wellness events,” said McEnaney. “But they weren’t throwing a wellness party.”

Once he was in the Fort Lauderdale scene, he became a familiar face at networking events, fitness gatherings, and his presence grew as a natural networker. That momentum led to the creation of Ice-a-Palooza, a wellness-driven experience where guests stepped into freezing tubs under the Florida sun. But they left emerging energized, laughing, and alive with adrenaline.

“We had to make a market change,” said McEnaney. “We made it Movement Social Club, but they’re still wellness parties; it was at the end of Ice-A-Palooza, where I got into real estate.”

While working with a personal training client, they had a conversation that shifted his perspective. His client was an experienced realtor, and she encouraged him to explore the industry, pointing out how deeply he was already embedded in community life.

“I was blessed to help a mentor of mine get a condo here,” said McEnaney. “He took me under my wing when I was in my previous field. He mentored me like we were family, and the opportunity came to get him property. I got him a great deal in Fort Lauderdale, and he now owns a condo on the beach. It’s a beautiful full circle of someone helped me, and I get to now help them and so many others.”
