Born and raised in Haiti, Carl Cyrius carried the resilience of his roots when he migrated to Broward County at just 14 years old. After high school, he answered a higher call and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. By 18, stationed overseas, he found himself navigating more than just military life because he was suddenly faced with the confusing maze of tax obligations. Like many young adults, he made the wrong choices when seeking help. That mistake would plant a seed he didn’t yet realize would one day change his life.

“I was even in Japan,” said Cyrius. “But I need assistance, and after my experience, I wanted to assist people.”

After returning home from Afghanistan, he began searching for a part-time job to steady his footing in civilian life. During the 2012–2013 tax season, a small local tax firm took him on. What seemed like a temporary gig turned into a life-defining moment. Behind a desk stacked with forms and numbers, he uncovered his true mission: guiding everyday people through one of the most intimidating institutions they’ll ever face—the IRS. What started as a chance became a purpose, transforming his career into a calling to help others where he once stumbled.

“At the time, I also had three children,” he said. “I was just living paycheck-to-paycheck, and I was the only breadwinner, so to speak, because my wife had the kids, and I needed an oasis for myself and was looking for financial fairness.”

Cyrius has stacked an impressive list of accomplishments that speak volumes about his dedication, discipline, and drive.

He emerged as a winner of the Veteran Florida Entrepreneurship Program, where his resilience and leadership earned him recognition as a standout entrepreneur shaping Florida’s business landscape. Beyond academics, Cyrius was a Golden Drum Scholarship recipient from FIU, a distinction reserved for high-achieving students with vision and purpose. He also serves the community as a State of Florida Public Notary, a trusted figure ensuring integrity and credibility in every signature and document he oversees.

“But I remember sitting on the couch in 2017, I had an idea to start the company,” he said. “I quit my job, and exited out the nine-to-five, and started out of my garage.”

 In the sweltering Florida heat, Carl’s garage became more than a place to park a car—it was his launchpad. He had carved out space for a folding table, a secondhand laptop, and a vision bigger than the square footage around him. While neighbors fired up grills and kids zipped by on bikes, Carl was sketching out numbers, mapping strategies, and dreaming of building something that could outgrow these four walls. The garage echoed with the click of keyboards, the shuffle of papers, and Carl’s quiet determination.

“We were even featured on NBC 6 news,” said Cyrius. “We grew to have a team of about 6 people at the Oasis Firm, and we just kept growing to what we are today.”
